ETA Relocates and Restores MSF Desalination Plant to Serve Vulnerable Communities

As part of a joint humanitarian effort, ETA oversees the relocation and maintenance of a 30 m³/day desalination unit operated by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), ensuring continued access to safe water in high-need areas.

Project background and impact

In an ongoing humanitarian partnership, Abdul Salam Yaseen Company – ETA is supervising the relocation and technical restoration of a desalination plant belonging to Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders). The initiative aims to bring the plant back into operation in a field location serving communities facing acute water shortages.

Project background

With a daily production capacity of 30 cubic meters — the equivalent of 30,000 liters of clean water per day — the plant is expected to supply safe drinking water to approximately 1,500 to 2,000 individuals daily, based on average emergency water needs per person.

The project scope includes:

🔹Safe dismantling and transportation of all technical equipment.

🔹On-site reinstallation and system optimization by ETA’s expert field teams.

🔹Real-time water quality testing to ensure compliance with international health standards.

This collaboration reflects ETA’s strategic commitment to supporting international humanitarian partners and delivering rapid, field-ready water solutions, especially in regions with disrupted infrastructure and limited access to safe water.
